The view from my deck was better than a 4th of July celebration. A group of 8 of us met in downtown State College camera gear in tow. At first I got the feeling that everyone was a little inhibited and nervous, I know I was. So a few snaps here and a few snaps there. We worked our way down to Skate Penn where we spent a good hour photographing the local skate community. Shaggy and Christian, the owners were great! I was really impressed with the enthusiasm of all the skaters, they skated hard and put on an amazing show for us. I only hope our photos due their efforts justice. I can not tell you how impressed I was with Skate Penn and how much value I think they add to the state college and the youth of centre county. My oldest son has shown an interest in skating and I plan on taking him to Skate Penn starting in May.
From the skate shop we headed over to Old Main where we successfully broke up a large kick ball game and chased away the tightrope walkers. I think it was just the time of day that the students were winding down. Just seemed odd that we show up with our cameras in hand and all the college kids just seemed to vanish within 5 minuets of our arrival. From Old Main we decided to call it an evening and hit up Zeno's

I had a great time, and met 2 of the people from an amazing graphics design company 3Twenty9
They offer a venue of informed ideas and skills for their clients. I highly recommend checking out their website and taking a look around. 3twenty9 design produces some amazing work.

So to sum it up, I had a great time, got to network with some amazingly creative and fun people, and learned more about the community that I live in.

I cant wait for Mays photowalk, keep watching this feed for details.

Photowalk State College on April 17th @ 5:30pm

What : A photo walk

When: April 17th @ 5:30PM till about 6:30 or 7:00

Who: Everyone

What is a photowalk you ask? Well if you want the whole techno babel explanation for what it is you can look at the wikipedia page. But in my terms, its just a group of people showing up with their cameras and walking around taking photos while socializing and having a lot of fun. This is not about being a professional photographer, or trying to get the next fine art masterpiece. So come on out oh April 17th @5:30 in downtown state college. We will meet at the corner of Beaver and Fraser and plan to walk through downtown and possibly up onto campus.

Its always fun to hang out with others who enjoy photography, and I've found it very interesting to see others photos of the same thing that I do yet we come up with completely different images. So come on out have some fun, enjoy the spring weather, and snap a few pictures.

Please do email me if you do plan on coming so I have an idea of how many people we are going to have.

News is now a RSS feed

In able to keep people better informed about the web site, up coming photo shoots, new galleries, specials, coupons, and deals we have moved the studioBrad.com news section into an RSS feed. I belive the new site is cleaner and aranged better than the old site. I really like how the new Flash Galleries showcase my work, more so than I did the old apple slideshow way.
Along with the new site comes hope for greater traffic and more interest in my photography. Im hoping this new site will provide potential customers the information they need in order to make a decision for their photographic needs. Also I plan on using the site for arranging creative photo shoots which is something I was not previously able to do.

So please check out the new site, and let me know what you think, thanks and I hope you enjoy my work.
