Photos from Septembers Photowalk

Things went pretty well for our Photowalk of the Pennsylvania State University campus back on Sept 4th in State College, PA. After meeting at the gates across from the Corner room we headed up onto campus towards Old Main.

Old Main

We seemed to stay an extraordinary amount of time here.

We worked away over to the side of building

After spending so much time walking around Old Main we got to stop taking photos and just talk to each other for a little while. Some of use went on down to the small garden in front of the HUB

before calling it a night.

I had a really good time, and it was great seeing all the new people, I do hope to see everyone again.

If you would like to see my photoset from this months photowalk head over HERE to see them posted on Flickr. Also dont forget to join the Penn State & State College Shutterbugs group on Flickr as well.

Next month we will be doing something a little different for the photowalk so keep an eye open for a news on this coming soon.

Photowalk on PSU Campus Sept 4th

In honor of some previous co-workers of mine, and dedicated photo walkers, who recently have changed jobs to the University also in celebration of the students returning we will have a photowalk on the PSU Campus.

This is about a group of people showing up with their cameras and walking around taking photos while socializing and having a lot of fun. Its great to hang out with others who enjoy photography. This is open to everyone so please let anyone you know who has an interest in photography about the walk. Please feel free to give out my contact information to anyone who has questions.

This months photo walk will be on the PSU campus we will meet at the gates in front of Old Main. There are plenty of unique and distinct photos of Penn State and Campus Life.

As our summer comes to a close and the sunset starts to come before 8:00 pm we will return to our 5:30pm starting time. After the photowalk lets all get together for a beer or drink of your choice, Ill have my laptop with me, if anyone who wants to upload their photos to share with everyone.

Please do email me if you plan on coming so I have an idea of how many people we are going to have.

Recent image in Centre Daily Times

On Sunday June 8th we were treated to a wonderful lightning storm. The view from my deck was better than a 4th of July celebration. After debating with myself about pulling out the camera or not, I went ahead and set up the tripod.

I got some great images that night, and decided to submit the photos to the Centre Daily Times.
I'm glad I did as they ended up running one of the photos on the front of Section B (On Centre & Lifestyle).

Aprils Photowalk Images comming soon.

The photowalk for April went fairly well for our first time. A group of 8 of us met in downtown State College camera gear in tow. At first I got the feeling that everyone was a little inhibited and nervous, I know I was. So a few snaps here and a few snaps there. We worked our way down to Skate Penn where we spent a good hour photographing the local skate community. Shaggy and Christian, the owners were great! I was really impressed with the enthusiasm of all the skaters, they skated hard and put on an amazing show for us. I only hope our photos due their efforts justice. I can not tell you how impressed I was with Skate Penn and how much value I think they add to the state college and the youth of centre county. My oldest son has shown an interest in skating and I plan on taking him to Skate Penn starting in May.
From the skate shop we headed over to Old Main where we successfully broke up a large kick ball game and chased away the tightrope walkers. I think it was just the time of day that the students were winding down. Just seemed odd that we show up with our cameras in hand and all the college kids just seemed to vanish within 5 minuets of our arrival. From Old Main we decided to call it an evening and hit up Zeno's

I had a great time, and met 2 of the people from an amazing graphics design company 3Twenty9
They offer a venue of informed ideas and skills for their clients. I highly recommend checking out their website and taking a look around. 3twenty9 design produces some amazing work.

So to sum it up, I had a great time, got to network with some amazingly creative and fun people, and learned more about the community that I live in.

I cant wait for Mays photowalk, keep watching this feed for details.
